MIAS Emergency Services Cycle Patrol Course

Who is this course for?

MIAS Emergency Services Cycle Patrol Course provides emergency services personnel and event responders with the specialist skills and knowledge required to operate safely and effectively on cycle patrol. The course focuses on advanced cycling techniques, operational safety, and real-world patrol scenarios, preparing participants for rapid response and professional deployment in diverse environments.

Course Structure

 The MIAS Emergency Services Cycle Patrol Course is a 2-day course open to emergency services personnel and event responder with a clinical grade of FREC 3 or above . 

 

  1.  Candidates should allow approximately 6–8 hours to complete the pre-course reading 
  2. 16 hours of contact teaching time

Entry Requirements

You must hold an in date FREC 3 certificate or higher clinical grade in order to attend this course. 


Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the training.

  • Off road skills (Technical skills)
  • General responsibilities
  • Conflict Resolution on bike
  • Operational responsibilities
  • Operational duties whilst on a pedal cycle 

Assessments

Continuous assessment is applied through the course.  In addition to this, there are:


  • 1 Multiple Choice Questionnaires


Requalification

This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. 

To remain qualified, this qualification must be retaken before the certificate expires.
