This qualification can be used to recertify your FREC 3 certification. It can also be utilised as conversion training from Intermediate First Person on Scene (FPOS I) to First Response Emergency Care (FREC) 3.
The FREC 3 Requalification / FPOSI to FREC Conversion is a 3-day course designed to allow those with either a FREC 3 or FPOSI qualifications to update their knowledge.
You must hold an in date First Person on Scene Intermediate (FPOS I) or FREC 3 certificate in order to attend this three-day course. Please go to FREC 3 to see the five-day qualification if you have no previous qualifications or an up-to-date FPOS I.
Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of the training.
Due to the assessments, adequate numeracy and literacy skills are needed to obtain a pass.

This progressive suite of pre-hospital care qualifications are part of an HCPC approved programme to enable a learner to become a Paramedic.
The FREC 3 qualification may be used towards other qualifications at the same and higher levels including QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC 4).
Entry to FREC 4 includes completion of 118 hours of contextualised learning, which must be evidenced by a CPD portfolio. In addition this qualification may aid career progression in a relevant profession.
This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years.
To remain qualified, this qualification must be retaken before the certificate expires.
